About Our Sponsor
Our sponsor, InterConnection, is a dynamic nonprofit organization based in Seattle, Washington, committed to bridging the digital divide and promoting environmental responsibility. Their mission revolves around two core principles: equitable access to technology and sustainable e-waste management. They provide free and affordable computers to community members and organizations, ensuring everyone can thrive in our interconnected world. Simultaneously, they tackle the challenge of electronic waste by refurbishing and reusing discarded devices, minimizing their impact on the environment. Collaborating with local communities, schools, and nonprofits creates a positive ripple effect, one computer at a time.
Project Goals
Our capstone project aims to align more closely with digital equity goals by leveraging existing census data to identify neighborhoods in Seattle with the greatest need for InterConnection's services.
We are enhancing the available data by combining various variables to provide new insights. Our approach hopes to enable quick access to critical information, highlighting areas where digital equity can be improved.
